So a week went by and I am going to incorporate Monday blogging as part of my weekly ritual. The images below are in chronological order starting with poses of John, followed by hand studies, and finally a little inking. Inking is going to let me scan and photo my images better with darker lines and no reflective properties, that you'll notice in some of the images below. I'm sure I could get a better photo, but I want to blog quick and effortlessly. Finally, I find it funny to note the difference between my hand and Bridgman's illustrations that I have been studying, since my thumbs and fingers are quite shorter making my palms look much wider. Anyways, enjoy and I'll post another week of work next Monday.
Wow, it has been over 6 months since I have posted. WTF happened? Instead of bellyaching I am just going to post a bunch to show some of what has occurred since end of last May, as I prepare to head back for another semester come February. First are two signs I was commissioned to do for Philz Coffee. Jacob, CFO, is working on having them printed and hopefully you will see them soon.
Next is work from this past semester in my Chiaroscuro class.
The last two were used for the final review of that class. For the final in my story boarding class we were asked to put together an animatic.
There are plenty of problems and things I wanted to change, but I will refrain from bellyaching, so take it for what you will. Continuing with my post, here are some current pages from my sketchbook in no particular order.
Have been drawing from life a lot recently to improve my raw skill, but there are some drawings from imagination and some characters pertaining to my thesis. You will be seeing more of them as I prepare to pitch my thesis idea this semester. Also, since I have quit my part time job I will be posting more often. I leave you with a digital painting based on one of the above sketches; practice taking a sketch to a more finished product.
