Semester complete

So its been too long since I posted, but I'm going to blame that on the wrapping up of the semester, even though I think that excuse is pathetic at best. Here is some of what has been created during that time. These first four pieces are digi-paintings for my thesis.

Secondly, traditional media pieces I scanned before school let out. I aim to obtain a scanner over the summer so I can continue to update with work from my sketch books. The first two pieces should look familiar, as they are the pastels from the previous post that I have done further work on (although, the second looks different in life, the scanner has done it injustice). Third is done in charcoal and an archival quality brush pen (leaves a burnt umber like color). Following are sketches of my roommate, which were done prior to the charcoal and ink of her, and other studies.

Lastly, this is an image I did for a friend for her birthday. I am going to revise it before I present her with another copy. I want to add her tattoos to the figure and put the turntables into perspective so you can tell what they are. I also may make the figure a little shorter and voluptuous. I was aiming somewhere between her and a Bettie Page pinup. Enjoy until I post again.

Terraforming Colony Kramned

So I have been busy conceptualizing the station in my Thesis. I originally had the garden underground, but have decided to move it up into a glass dome. It started as a bubble, but has grown into a cathedral-esque green house. More on this is to come.

4/21/2010

First is a properly scanned image of the pastel piece I posted previously. 2nd and 3rd are two pastel pieces I did this past weekend. 4th and 5th are two paintings I did for my color and design class last semester. The rest are selected sketches scanned out my book. Until next time.

first encounter with an iPad

Last Wednesday I was at dinner and my friend Joel had just purchased an iPad as a work aid while traveling. He had Autodesk Sketchbook Pro installed and I couldn't help but play for 20 minutes or so. Besides drawing with my finger on an iPad being completely new, I also had never used Sketchbook Pro, but it is more or less the same as photoshop. This is my friend Sean, who was also at dinner with us.

Fred Turnaround Update

I made some changes, mostly pertaining to the beard, hands and feet. He's better but I will have to revisit this one again.

Excuse the Delay

So sorry for the tardiness of this post. Getting back in pace after spring break, I did not make the time to post. But anyways, first is a bad picture of a pastel piece that hung in a small showing at a fashion boutique down the street from where I live. I will have to get it scanned.

Second is a selection from images scanned from my sketch book. My studies have been pertaining to the human figure. That is all for now, enjoy!
